Taylor had a beautiful tenor/baritone voice, his father quickly noticed the talents and gifts of his children at their young ages - and joyfully formed a group called The Taylor Family Gospel Singers with his children.

Taylor also used his gift of singing with the BCHS chorus where he participated in state competitions.

Taylor was an adventurer and lover of all things in nature, hunting, fishing, camping, bike riding and cooking were just a few of the things he enjoyed the most. Family was also very important to him as he enjoyed raising his blended family and loved his daughter, stepchildren and grandchildren.

Both parents, Rev. Clarence and Inez Taylor, and two beloved sisters, Teresa Y. Easton and Patricia A. Cray preceded him in death.

Taylor leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Nora Taylor; his daughter, Carmelisa (Henry) Pope; his stepchildren, Patricia (James) Perry, Roshay (Letia) Carter and Contrell Carter; a dear stepmother, Marie Taylor; one sister, Juanita Taylor; two brothers, Clarence Taylor Jr., and Reverend Douglas (Bridgette) Taylor; and an abundance of other family members and friends to include aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren.
