ST. SIMONS ISLAND — Barbara Jean Shadron, 82, of St. Simons Island, passed away late Thursday evening, February 12, 2026, at Heritage Oaks of St. Simons Island.
Mrs. Shadron was born October 7, 1942, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Genero and Eva Kate Lewis Batuyong. She had lived in Brunswick most of her life, attending St. Joseph’s Catholic School.
Mrs. Shadron had worked at The Diana Shop, Grants and King Shrimp Company. She enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
A service to celebrate her life will be held today (Wednesday, February 18, 2026) at 3 p.m., at Chapman Funeral Chapel with James Vivenzio officiating.
Survivors include her sons, John Duncan of Brunswick and James “Rodwich” Duncan (Kathy) of Waynesville; grandchildren, Aaron Duncan, Kasey Lynn Zagorski (John), Jonathan Duncan and Joshua Duncan (Angela); great grandchildren, James, Colvin, Russell and Austin.
Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory was entrusted with arrangements.
