CANEY BAY — Brantley County split a Region 1-A matchup with visiting Worth County here Tuesday.
The MaxPreps 13th-ranked Lady Herons (18-5 overall, 8-4 region) won their fourth consecutive game and 10th in the last 12, handing the Lady Rams (913, 4-7) a fourth consecutive loss 69-35. Brantley County posted a 44-35 victory in Sylvester January 17.
The Herons (10-13, 5-7), who have split their last 10 games, had their mini two-game winning streak snapped as the Rams (616, 3-8) ended a seven-game losing streak recording a 66-37 victory for a split in the season series. BCHS thumped Worth County, who had dropped 10 of its last 11 games, 71-37 in the first meeting.

BCHS opened up an 11-point halftime lead and pulled away over the last 16 minutes outscoring the Lady Rams by 23 points for the win.
The Lady Herons held a slim 1512 lead after the first eight minutes. They outscored Worth County 19-11 in the second quarter to take a 34-23 halftime lead.
BCHS broke the game open in the third stanza outpointing the Lady Rams 17-4 to extend the margin to 51-27. Brantley County outscored the visitors 18-8 in the final canto.
Ella Highsmith led 12 Lady Herons in the scoring column finishing with 14 points. She grabbed nine rebounds, handed out three assists and recorded three steals. Abbie Lee (trey) finished with 12 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. She also led the team with seven steals and dished out four assists.
Kirsten Smith (six rebounds, two steals, assist) netted nine points. Chloe Johns (trey; rebound, assist, steal) and Edie Lowther (four rebounds) each netted seven points.
Brodie Allen (two steals, rebound), Anniston Bowers (teamhigh six assists, five steals), and Grace Carver (two rebounds, steal) contributed four points apiece.
Raleigh Gibson (steal), Julie Carter (four rebounds, assist, steal), Rachel Kennedy (rebound) and Sarah Grace Tompkins tallied two points each.
Worth County’s Jariah Williams (trey) claimed game-high scoring honors with 15 points. Mikhayla Stephens (trey) chipped in 10 points.

Worth County jetted out to a double- digit lead in the first quarter en route to outscoring the Herons in every quarter for the victory.
The Rams built a 21-8 advantage in the opening stanza. Their scoring pace slowed in the second period, but still outscored BCHS 11-9 for a 32-17 advantage at intermission.
Worth County extended its margin in the third quarter outscoring the Herons 18-11 to open up a commanding 50-28 margin. The visitors claimed the fourth quarter scoring, finishing with a 16-9 advantage.
BCHS was led by the six points of Jayden Byron (two treys) and Tristian Dyess (trey). Nathan Howell (trey), Jayden Simmons and Holton DePratter contributed five points each.
Corbin Roberson (trey) netted four points. Cole Courson, Hayze Evans and Tallon Collins each bagged two points.
The Rams had a trio of double-figure scorers who combined for 51 points. Kuami Wright (trey) scored a game-high 22 points. Caleb Thomas (four treys) finished with 18 points. Tison Hendley (three treys) netted 11 points.
