Pierce County Middle School’s sixth/seventh grade boys basketball defeated Waycross Middle last Thursday 33-32.

The Bears had a 13 point lead at halftime and at the end of the third quarter led 28-19.

“We did a great job the first half of pressing and running our fastbreak. We let Waycross cut the lead in the fourth quarter, by not hitting our free throws. We were 5 of 27 from the line.The boys played hard and never gave up,” said Coach Maureen Brown.

Phoenix Chadwick, Chance Williams and Jagger Young down low at the post did a great job. Jae”Voen Williams played his best game yet, and was the leading scorer with 14 points, followed by Chadwick with 11 points, Williams with six points, and Jamil Strickland with two points.

The boys will be back in action tomorrow, Thursday, November 18 at Brantley.
