Pierce County Middle dropped a pair of Southeast Georgia Middle School Athletic Conference tilts last week.
PCMS (2-4) was doubled up on the road in Jesup Monday, August 31, in falling 8-4 to Arthur Williams. The Lady Bears were roughed up by visiting Bacon County Middle School 16-4 Thursday, September 3, extending their losing streak to three games.
Pierce Middle travels Thursday, September 10, to face Brantley County Middle School in the only game of the week at 4:30. The Lady Bears finish the regular season Thursday, September 17, with a home date against Ware County Middle School beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Yellow Jackets scored six runs over the first two innings and were never in trouble in turning back Pierce Middle.
Arthur Williams scored once in the first inning, plated five runs in the second, and finished off its scoring with a two-run third against Taylor Tomlinson (6 IP, 7 H, 8 R, 1 ER, 3 K, 4 BB, 1 WP).
The Lady Yellow Jackets scored three of their five second-inning runs on a two-out, error. Consecutive run-scoring hits followed giving Arthur Williams a 6-0 lead.
PCMS dented the plate with two runs in the third on a run-scoring groundout by Gracie Corbitt and run-scoring single by Alyssa Crump (1-for-4).
After the Lady Yellow Jackets scored their final two runs in the bottom of the third, Pierce Middle responded with a two-run fourth.
Allie Cravey (2-for-3) hit a lead off double and scored two pitches later on Kaylee Figueroa’s (1-for-3) single. Bella Delaney’s (3-for-4) two-out triple chased home Figueroa for the final run of the game.

A three-run third inning gave the Lady Red Raiders a lead it would not relinquish.
Bacon Middle struck for a first-inning unearned run with the Lady Bears responding with two runs in the bottom of the inning for a 2-1 lead.
Delaney (1-for-2) walked, stole second and scored on Crump’s (2-for-3) one-out single to tie the game. Following a double by Cravey (1-for-3), Olivia Bennett’s ground out pushed courtesy runner Alayna Bell home.
PCMS tacked on a run in the second on Delaney’s two-out double. Tomlinson (2-for-3) lined a one-out double with courtesy runner Lucy Morgan stealing second ahead of Delaney’s hit for a 3-1 advantage.
BCMS scored three times in the third inning to take a 4-3 lead. The Lady Red Raiders added four runs in the fourth against Tomlinson (5.2 IP, 9 H, 13 R, 2 ER, 2 K, 5 BB, 2 WP) extending the margin to 8-3.
The Lady Bears scored their final run in the bottom of the inning on Claire Murray’s RBI ground out. Figueroa (1-for-3) reached on an error and Tomlinson singled two batters later. Following a wild pitch to advance the runners, Murray’s grounder scored Figueroa.
Bacon Middle put the game away with an eight-run sixth inning. The Lady Red Raiders recorded three singles, two doubles, two walks, a hit batter and reached on two errors.
