The Pierce County Lady Bears rolled to three 5-0 wins last week with the closest match coming against Class AAAA Wayne County.

PCHS (8-2 overall, 4-0 Region 1-AAA) escaped with a tough win against the Lady Yellow Jackets. Against region foes Tattnall County and Southeast Bulloch, the Lady Bears dropped a total of two games.

Pierce traveled Tuesday to Dodge County and will host Appling County Thursday in region action.

Lady Bears 5 - Wayne County 0

PCHS won four of its five matches in straight sets with a fifth going to a third set tie-breaker.

Liza Hurst had no trouble beating Ashley Steverson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Meagan Wright rallied from a one-set deficit to beat Kelli Poppell 4-6-6-4, 10-5 at No. 2. Deanna Jones downed Madison Moxley 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3.

The No. 1 doubles team of Serena Strickland and Haley Theis  posted a 6-1, 6-1 win against Alexis Scarbaugh and Morgan Courson while the No. 2 duo of Regan Sikes and Sadie Marfil  outlasted Mia Popkin and Alexis Derr 6-4, 6-4.

Lady Bears 5 - Tattnall County 0

The Lady Bears hardly broke a sweat in disposing of Tattnall County in straight set love matches.

Hurst started the 6-0, 6-0 party beating Sarah Morgan at No. 1. Wright did likewise against Chelsey Odum at No. 2, and Jones followed suit at No. 3 beating Dyanna Velez.

Strickland and Theis continued the theme at No. 1 doubles beating Brynn Durrence and Janie Tripp with Sikes and Marfil completing the whitewashing with the win over Ruby Gonzalez and Natalie Mock.

Lady Bears 5 - Southeast Bulloch 0

Pierce had little trouble with the Lady Yellow Jackets winning the three singles matches 6-0, 6-0.

Hurst blanked Samantha Grover at No. 1, Wright followed with the win over Katelyn Parker, and Jones finished it off beating Mya Gapac.

Strickland and Theis knocked off Amy Cooper and Sydney Stansell 6-1, 6-1. Sikes and Marfill blanked Ashely Eakin and Layla Martin 6-0, 6-0.
