We all have those people who we make an instant connection with when we meet. You just click, many times making lasting friendships. Those connections can come suddenly or can be made over time. 

One individual I have made a connection with is Chi Meeker. Chi’s quick wit and sense of humor clicked with mine and we have become fast friends. After speaking with Chi, I found out he has published a collection of wisdom of the American cowboy titled Always Drink Upstream From The Herd.

• The following are a few  statements, phrases and sayings from the collection:

• Lettin’ the cat outta’ the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin’ it back. 

• Life ain’t no stampede to be stopped, but rather a steak to be savored, slowly.

• Every trail has some rocks and some hard places.

• Life pulls the rug out from under those who demand the red carpet treatment.

•Untold suffering seldom is.

• When you invite trouble, it’s glad to accept.

• Ya’ can’t lead the band if ya’ won’t face the music.

Never underestimate yer’ ability, others will do it for ya’.
