Willie James Caldwell Jr. passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Jesus has the power to raise him from the dead at any time for God’s glory. His parents believe that Jesus possesses the power to give, take away and return life to His creation.
He was born December 19, 1991 in Okinawa, Japan to the proud parents of Willie J. Caldwell and Bianca C. Woodard. He was raised by his parents, bonus father (Donell Woodard), and bonus mother (Doris Caldwell). At a young age, he confessed Jesus as Lord of his life and believed in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. He was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was a brother and friend to many.
He was a Santa Rosa Corrections Officer and was known for his leadership in motivating others to be a better officer and person. His demeanor was steadfast. His skills in counseling inmates usually takes years to develop, but he was naturally gifted in this area. He accomplished every task in excellence to ensure inmates’ needs were met, respecting them and in compliance with standards. His leadership led to him being an active member of the Santa Rosa Correctional Institution’s Rapid Response Team. His working relationship with this tight knit unit blossomed and he became a trustworthy brother to his teammates.
Survivors in addition to his parents and bonus parents include his grandparents, David and Vaniece Harris, Evelena Henderson and Ruby Pierce; his beloved girlfriend, Beatrice Johnson; his brothers and sisters, Jeremy and Joshua Caldwell, Pierre, Maurice, Marcus, and Brittney Woodard, Corey and Xavier Lawrence, the Santa Rosa Correctional Institution’s Rapid Response Team; his uncles and aunts, David Harris Jr., John Henderson III (Angela), Martha Henderson, Toni Williams (Sam), Jo Evelyn Patrick (Dennis), Renita Woodard and Larry Woodard and his first cousins David III, Khira, Mya and Devin Harris, Amelia and Autumn Williams, Samuel, Nakia and Nicholas Williams, Dorothy, Joanna, and John IV Henderson, Vincent Woodard and Kevin Bush Jr.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, from the Love First Christian Center, 12847 Balm Riverview Road, Riverview, FL. Dr. Jomo and Charmaine Cousins, are the pastors, Pastor Zhivago Lightbourne will officiate and Elder Fitz Crittle will be the master of ceremony. Prayer will be offered by Pastor Tommie Smith. Old Testament reading will be by Elder Andrea Crittle and New Testament reading will be by Minister Valenica Moss. Acknowledgements will be by Pastor Tommie Smith.
Musical selections will be offered by the Love First Christian Center Music Ministry.
Pallbearers and flower attendants will be friends of the family.
