Wendell Leon Carter Sr.

Wendell Leon Carter Sr., 57, of Blackshear, transitioned Monday, December 23, 2019 at his home in Blackshear. 

He was born in Orange County, FL, to the late Ollie Eldon Carter and Sybil Sue Phillips Carter. He attended Waycross High School. He lived most of his life in Blackshear.

He liked playing scraping cards, spending time with his grandchildren, and being with friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Rene Pafford and a daughter, Misty Warmack.

He leaves to cherish his memory, five children, Kristie (Joe) Hicks, Blackshear, Dusty (Donna) Carter, Jesup and Randy Carter and Josh (Haley) Carter, both of Stockbridge and Wendell Carter Jr. of Alabama; two sisters, Kelly Davis and Karen Haynes, both of Blackshear and  several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for all family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020 from the Youmans Chapel Baptist Church, 3497 Dean Still Road, Blackshear.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Rainge Memorial Chapel, 505 Ware Street, Blackshear, GA 31516.
