Tommie Lee Hurst, 30, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 10, 2020 in Ocala, FL.
He was born January 24, 1990 in Ocala, FL, to Catherine Hurst and George Loggins. He grew up and made a significant impact throughout Florida, Georgia and Illinois. He was recently building his life and career in West Palm Beach, FL.
In his short lifetime he gained his mate and engineering (maritime engineer) credentials allowing him to work for a tug-boat company based in Charleston, SC, traveling up and down the East Coast. He was also a farmer (tobacco, hay and peanuts), a shrimper, a captain and an inventor. In 2018, he created antimicrobial flooring, Ten6polymers, aimed at stopping the spread of bacteria from inside any medical transport vehicles. During his free-time he wrote and performed his music and enjoyed making everyone laugh.
He was preceded in death by numerous grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his son, Spencer Wade Britt, 8, his mother and father; his Daddy D; his siblings, Nicole Chantelle, Noelle, Allison, David, Katelyn, Mark, Alexis and Caleb; multiple nieces and nephews and everal aunts and uncles.
A celebration of life was held Monday, June 15, in Blackshear.
In lieu of flowers, a savings account has been created for his son, Spencer, at United First Federal Credit Union in Blackshear.
