Sonjia Renia Blash

Sonjia Renia Blash, 51, of Alma, was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 23, 2020, following a short illness.

She was born February 15, 1969 in Alma, to Aritha Davis (Earnest Davis) and the late Bobby Blash.

She lived all her life in Alma, where she lovingly raised her four children, Ladaidrius Batton, Justin Blash (Takeshia), Raequail Batton and Marquail Batton.

She devoted her life to raising her children to be independent, respectful adults. She was a grandmother to four children whom she loved very dearly, Keyontae Joyner, Bailey Batton, Raegan Batton and Allen Roberts. She loved spending time with them every spare moment that she had.

She blessed many people working several places. Her last blessing was working as a secretary with the Bacon County Board of Education at the Bacon County Primary School. She was the ray of sunshine everyone was graced with as they entered the door. She enjoyed meeting new people, putting smiles on everyone’s face, helping out with the Bacon County basketball team, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a natural entertainer and always enjoyed making others laugh.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Blash; grandmothers, Willie Mae Blash and Doris Mitchell; brother, Willie Linder Jr.; and grandson, Ladaidrius Oscric Batton. She leaves behind to forever cherish her memories many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lots of family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Alma.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Alma.
