Shari Ellen Boatright Henderson, 59, of Mershon, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Born in Waycross June 8, 1961, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life. She was a 1979 graduate of Patterson High School and went on to graduate from South Georgia College with her Registered Nurse degree. She had worked at different medical facilities over the years but was currently working for Appling Health Care System in Baxley in the Senior Care Unit. She found that working with hospice patients was her calling and to her it was like her ministry. She enjoyed camping and reading, especially her Bible, but her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her granddaughter, Kaley Brooke, who called her “Yaya”. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a friend to everyone who knew her. She was a member of the family of God, washed by the blood of the Lamb and of the Baptist faith. She was always praying for people and their prayers for her over the past few weeks have been not only felt by the family, but greatly appreciated.
She was a daughter of the late Vernell Smith Boatright. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ann Thornton.
Survivors include her husband and soul mate of 35 years, Troy Carl Henderson Jr., Mershon; her daughter and son-in-law, Hannah and Doug Boatright, Mershon; her son, James “Skipper” Davis III (Jade Jorishie), Blackshear; her father, Bernice Boatright, Blackshear; her sister, Abby Boatright Walker (Ray Cason), Blackshear; her precious granddaughter, Kaley Brooke Boatright; nieces and nephews, Jody (DeAnna) Thornton, Payton Walker, Ashley (Brandon) Ramey, Travis Lariscy Jr. and Monica (Mike) Turner; and several other relatives and friends.
