Robert Leslie “Robbie” Dixon Sr., 50, of Blackshear, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Born in Savannah, February 8, 1970, he had lived in Savannah for many years prior to moving to Pierce County nine years ago. He was a 1988 graduate of Groves High School in Garden City. He had worked for the Westin doing food prep then the Savannah Morning News in the print department prior to working for Southside Telephone and Answering Service where he had been a dispatcher. He loved to watch football and the races with his son, Little Robbie, he was a big George Strait fan, was an excellent cook and loved to help people. He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Bridge Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church over the years.

He was a son of the late Carol Jackson and Helen Fay Hayman Dixon. 

Survivors include his son, Robert Leslie “Little Robbie” Dixon Jr., Blackshear; three sisters, Debra (James) Hallex and Helen (Howard) Amlesberg, all of Ellabell and Vicky Dixon, Waycross; two brothers, Carol Jackson “Buddy” (Darlene) Dixon Jr., Blackshear and Billy and Jessica Dixon, Midway and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday, October 6, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, October 6, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Enon Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing and the use of facemasks are strongly encouraged.
