Robert Eugene “Bob” Moore, 72, of Blackshear, passed away early Friday morning, November 29, 2019, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.

Born in Fort Wayne, IN May 4, 1947, he had lived in Indiana for many years before moving to Pierce County in the 1990s.  He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He graduated from a technical school with honors with a degree in surgical technology and went on to retire as a brick mason. While in Indiana he had been in law enforcement, was a fire chief and volunteer in the Spencerville Township Fire Department. He loved to tell a joke and enjoyed playing the guitar and hunting and fishing.

He was a son of the late Glenn Franklin and Betty Jean Longbrake Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda Diane Davis Moore, Blackshear; his daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Michael Conway, New Haven, IN; his son, Ricky Moore, Blackshear; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Deloris and Levi Davis, Bowling Green, KY and Cheryl Sue and Denny Zieloft, Auburn, IN; his brother, Donald Lee Moore, Ft. Wayne, IN; five grandchildren, Brittany (Andrew) Halferty, Brandon Beachy, Dallas Justus, Skyler Justus and Dominic Conway; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Beachy, Aclainde Halferty and Lorelai Halferty and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
