Robert Carroll “Bob” Tucker, 82, of Blackshear, passed away early Thursday morning, December 24, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Born in Baltimore, MD August 1, 1938, he had lived in Vidalia for several years prior to moving to Pierce County in 2004. He was retired from Standard Container where he had been a quality control supervisor. He was a former chaplain at Montgomery State Prison and was currently volunteering as chaplain at Ware State Prison as well as their outreach program. He was a member and deacon at Abundant Life Church. He so enjoyed helping people, shopping, exploring and seeing different things.

He was a son of the late George McKinley and Carolyn Elizabeth Simmons Tucker. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Darby Tucker and by his brother, George Tucker Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Kimberly Waldron Tucker, Blackshear; his daughter, Darby (Matthew) Beggarly, Lancaster, PA; his son, Scott (Tim Levy) Tucker, London, England; four grandchildren, Zach (Mariela) McCullagh, Caroline McCullagh, Cherith McCullagh and Samuel Fife; his fur baby, Bella and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Due to circumstances, funeral services will be private for family only.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.

Due to COVID-19 and the impact it has had on this family, social distancing guidelines and the use of facemasks are required. Unfortunately, due to the situation, hugging, shaking hands and any other physical contact is highly discouraged.
