Rita VanStone Neske, 72, of Screven, died Sunday, April 14, 2019, at her home.
A native of New Jersey, she had lived in Screven the past 23 years, was a homemaker and helped her daughter, Dawn, in all of her business adventures. She loved to play Bingo and computer games but had a passion for collecting antique metal tins and medicine bottles. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred “Hard Times” Neske and a sister, Edith Zimmerman.
Survivors are two daughters, Dawn (Randy) Pridgen and Rosie (Chad) Kinard, both of Screven; several grandchildren, Robin Hutto, Kimberly and Timothy Angle, Amanda (Avery) Cox, Michael and Lisa Norris, Candace Kinard; several great-grandchildren and a niece, Laurie (Brian) Hurst.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, from the Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Pastor Mickey Tomberlin and Harry Thompson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Screven City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Hartenstein, Michael “Gopher” Roberson, Brett Kindard, Cody Kinard, Dusty Kinard and Mackey McReady.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Dr. Duane Moores and Karen Bamberg and the staff of Dr. Robert Pumpelly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Willene Todd Memorial Scholarship Fund, 361 Hortense Road, Screven, Ga. 31560.
