Mildred Ann Riales Scallorn Byrd, 84, of Blackshear, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 10, 2019, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.

Born in Como, MS January 2, 1935, she had lived in Sardis, MS for several years before moving to Pierce County 16 years ago. She had been a military wife for many years but had also been a homemaker for most of her adult life.  She loved the outdoors – camping, hunting and fishing – and also loved to travel.She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Sardis, MS and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

She was the daughter of the late Harris and Lurline Chance Riales. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Scallorn; her second husband, Kenneth Byrd; her daughter, Katherine Ann Lea and both of her brothers, Wayne Riales and Gerald Riales.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cammie Scallorn, Mershon; two step-sons, Jerry (Lisa) Byrd, Mims, FL and Danny Byrd, Mershon; a son-in-law, Kim Lea, Sherman, TX; two sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Hill, Batesville, MS and Donna Riales, Hernando, MS; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her very dear friend, Jaunette Sauls, Blackshear and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
