Michael Amos “Festus” Altman, 58, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at his residence in Blackshear following a brief illness.

He was born in Statesboro, to the late Franklin Delano Roosevelt Altman and Grace Juanita Warner Joyner. He was formerly employed at Union Camp in Folkston before it closed and was currently employed with West Fraser in Blackshear.

Survivors include his companion of 26 years, Carol Ann Thomas, Blackshear; a son, Christopher Michael Altman (Ashley), Clayton, DE; seven grandchildren, Jada Justice, Nevaeh Altman, Serenity Altman, Jaylah Burris, Keeley Riendeau, Baby A and Christopher Michael Altman Jr.; a sister, Juanita Ann Thompson (Gary Eugene), Blackshear; a brother, Jerry Altman, Waycros and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, from the Music Funeral Home Chapel.  

Interment will follow in Hargraves Chapel Cemetery in Millwood.
