Micah Allen ‘Mike’ Carter

Micah “Mike” Allen Carter, 64, of Blackshear, passed away late Friday night, November 29, 2019, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, following a short illness.

Born October 1, 1955 in Jacksonville, NC, he was a son of the late J.C. Hubert and Marjorie Johnson Carter. He was a veteran, having served as an aircraft mechanic with the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a sergeant. He continued being an aircraft mechanic following his military career, working for Boeing.  

He had attended First Baptist Church in Blackshear and had enjoyed attending the FAITH Riders Motorcycle Ministry events.

Survivors include his son, Chris Carter, Waycross; his grandson, Maddox Carter, Waycross; two sisters, Patricia Aldridge (Mike), Gloucester, VA and Diana West (John), Richmond, VA; his nieces and nephews, J.C. West, Newport News, VA, David West, Richmond, VA, Jonathan West (Ashley), New Kent, VA, and Jennifer Smith (James Via),  Savannah and several friends and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
