Mary Lee Boatright Burger, 63, of Lilburn, passed away Thursday evening, June 6, 2019, at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.
Born in Blackshear, June 7, 1955, she had lived in the Atlanta area most of her life. She was a 1973 graduate of Blackshear High School and was a homemaker. Her passion was gardening – growing beautiful flowers and vegetables like nobody’s business. She even had her own Facebook page – Old Ladies Garden. She had an old soul and loved to live a simple life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and devoted friend. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Mae Nimmons Boatright and by a grandson, Josh Metivier.
Survivors include her husband and soul mate of 45 years, Randy Lynn Burger Sr., Lilburn; her daughter, Mary Rush (Henry Lopez), Marshall, VA; two sons, Randy (Andrea) Burger Jr., Loganville and Robert “Bobby” (Lasonya) Burger, Lawrenceville; her sister, Susie Yeomans, Patterson; 11 grandchildren, Chelsea Rush, Brianna Rush, C. J. Rush, Peyton Rush, Samantha (Terry) Lambert, Bridgett (Heather) Beesley, Alayna Burger, Diamond (Dangelo Ball) Graham, Preston Graham, Jasmine Burger and Trinity Burger; six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 10, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
The family kindly requests members of the Blackshear High School Class of 1973 to serve as honorary pallbearers. They are asked to meet at the funeral home by 2:30 p.m. Monday.
