Marvin Carey “Buddy” Morgan, 72, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2020, at his residence.

Born in Waycross December 21, 1947, he grew up on a farm in Millwood and was raised in Ware County attending Ware County schools. He moved to Pierce County in the early 1980s and lived here until his passing. He had worked as a wall builder for Well’s Cargo and was of the Baptist faith.  He loved fishing and dogs and dearly loved his family especially his grandbabies and was a very generous man who would give you the shirt off of his back. 

He was a son of the late Odis Kary and Thelma Stewart Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Belle Royals Morgan; his brother, Ray Eugene “Gene” Morgan and his step-son, Jody Lynn Cartwright.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Brewer Morgan, Blackshear; two daughters, Sherry Rice (Tim Burnett), Gainesville, FL and Tracy (Alvin) Roberson, Waycross; two grandchildren, Brittany Rice, Tampa, FL and Alysa Roberson, Waycross; four great grandchildren, Leo, Aria, Astrid and Catherine; three step-sons, Clyde (Barbara) Witt, Dahlonega, Joe Witt of Mississippi and William “Bill” Weeks of Florida and their children and grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, July 24, at the funeral home. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Ware County.
