Margaret Jean McHan Tippins

Margaret Jean McHan Tippins, 85, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday night, May 19, 2020, at Harborview Pierce County, following an extended illness.

Born June 30, 1934 in Chatsworth, she was a daughter of the late Bascum Grady and Ada Beatrice Cordell McHan. She had lived most of her life in Pierce County and had worked at the Spatola Shoe Factory, Julie Hat Company and Baptist Village in Waycross as a CNA. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest D. Tippins; a son, Earnest D. Tippins Jr. and two brothers, B. L. McHan and Willard McHan.

Survivors include four children, Margie Cason (husband J.H.), Blackshear, Ann Clark (husband Randy), Pigeon Forge, Marie Whitley, Blackshear, and Lamar Tippins (wife Shirley), Patterson; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty McHan, Blackshear; a brother, Billy McHan (wife Dot) of Florida and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, at the Shiloh Cemetery.
