Luke M. Griffis

Luke M. Griffis, 91, of K-Ville, died Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at home.  

A native of Appling County, he was a member and deacon of Ritch Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict and was a retired active farmer. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Addie Griffis; siblings, Marvin Jr., Willis, Wilbur and G.W. Griffis and Magileen Pickett.

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Jerry Thornton Griffis, K-Ville; a daughter, Susan (Mark) Nadolski, K-Ville; two sons, Guy (Phyllis) Griffis and Gregory (Amy) Griffis, all of K-Ville; six grandchildren, Shanna, Bethany, Grayson, Steven, Jarrod and Karly and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 25, from the Big Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Kyle Mercer and the Rev. Benji McReady officiating. 

Active pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
