Linda Horton Thornton, 81, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at home.
She and her twin sister, Glinda were born July 27, 1938 in Brunswick to the late Tommy and Ruby Ogden Horton. She spent her early years in the Piney Grove Community and attended school in Odum. She was a hard worker who worked a full-time job and raised seven children. She cared for patients as a home healthcare nurse for several years but most of her working career was spent working in a sewing factory as a seamstress, a craft which she had mastered. Many Easter mornings were spent putting the finishing touches on dresses she had made for her girls or finishing up suits for her boys. She was always actively involved in church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Most recently, she was a member of True Life Assembly of God. In her spare time, she enjoyed swimming, sewing and was a talented piano player but more than anything, she loved spending time with her beloved family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Farris H. Thornton Sr.; her brother, Mallory Horton; her twin sister, Glinda Thornton; her adopted daughter, Deborah Tamms and her son-in-law, Ray Thorne.
