Lillian Juanita “Nita” Oliver Adams, 92, of Brantley County, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Baptist Village Nursing Home in Waycross.

Born in Dothan, AL October 19, 1928, she had lived in Brantley County since 1971. She was a minister’s wife for nearly 60 years and was known for having a true servant’s heart due to her willingness to always help others. She was also a hard worker no matter what it was she was doing. She enjoyed crocheting, working in her yard, decorating with flowers (she could have been a florist) and going to the beach. She was a member of Satilla Baptist Church in Hortense where she also attended the ladies Sunday school class.

She was a daughter of the late J. E. and Minnie Beatrice Hughes Oliver. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, the Rev. James Robin Adams and all of her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter Peggy Adams Strickland (Cary Carter), Hortense; one son, David Ellie Adams, Hortense; three grandchildren, Carey Elizabeth (Cale) Flowers, Erin Camille (Jarrett) Johns and Paul Gregory Adams; five great-grandchildren, Abbey Flowers, Caylen Flowers, Riley Johns, Autry Johns and Evan Adams and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, from the Satilla Cemetery in Hortense.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines as well as the use of facemasks is strongly encouraged.
