Katie Kathleen Woods Hernandez, 61, of Blackshear, died Sunday evening, November 10, 2019, at her residence after an extended illness.  

She was born in Blackshear to the late Corbette Woods Sr. and Dixie Morris Youmans.  She had made Blackshear her home for her entire life. She worked for Dairy Queen in Waycross and was a member of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church. She loved her dog, “Ms. Pug” and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.  She was preceded in death by her father, Corbette Woods Sr. and her step-father, David Youmans.

Survivors include one son, Rusty Hunt and his wife Jessica, Jesup; two grandchildren, Ashlee Hunt, Savannah, Connor Hunt, Waycross, her mother, Dixie Youmans, Blackshear; two brothers, Corbette Woods Jr., and his wife Hope, Blackshear and David Stephen Woods and his wife Phyllis, Screven, five nephews and one special niece, Starr. 

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today (Wednesday, Nov. 13) in Waters Cemetery.
