Katie Frances Manders Goble, 92, of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at the Hospice Satilla Hopsice House in Waycross.
Born Tuesday, September 4, 1928 in Ellijay, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Manders and Beula West Manders. She lived most of her life in Pierce and Ware counties. She worked at the Spatola Shoe factory and the Julie Hat Company for many years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Bristol Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband, Fletcher L. Goble; a son, Jackie Lamar Goble; a daughter, Peggy Jane Goble; a great-granddaughter, Mattie Elizabeth Goble; five brothers, Earl Manders, James Manders, Ray Manders, Paul Manders and Eugene Manders; three sisters, Bernice Murray, Vera Ruth Norman and Eula Mae Miller and a son-in-law, Roy Murphy Sapp.
Survivors include her daughter, Margie Sapp, Patterson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth Goble, Jacksonville and Bobby (Barbara) Goble, Waycross; five sisters, Eunice Pittman, Indian Head, MD, Lucy Rodriguez, San Diego, CA, Katherine Norman, St. George, Susie Kurtz, Valdosta and Annette Manders, Marietta; two brothers, Cecil (Norma Jean) Manders, Blackshear and Johnnie (Vernell) Manders, Waycross; eight grandchildren, David Mark Sapp, Marsha “Peanut” (Kris) Towers, Scott (Jennifer) Sapp, Gi Gi Goble, Rob (Tina) Goble, Cindy (Eric) Hartley, Amber (Eric) Dyer and Alissa (Eric) Martin; 12 great-grandchildren, Kristopher Murphy Towers, Kaitlyn Towers, Kristen Towers, Austin S. Smith, Brett Matthew Sapp, Allyson Sapp, Millie Goble, Tate Goble, Hayli (Tyler) Sellers, Zoie Dyer, Kadon Dyer and Payne Tillman; two great-great-grandchildren, Jo Jo Sellers and Mila Sellers and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Due to COVID-19, the family requests that face masks be worn while attending the services.
Visitation will take place from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
