Karen June Johnson, 64, passed peacefully in her sleep Monday, July 27, 2020.
She was born March 8, 1956, and was preceded in death by her mother, Valarie June O’Steen; her father, James Britton Melton; her daughter, Stephanie Anne Lowry and her granddaughters, Lillian Anne Patrono and Lilly Grace White.
She was a stunningly beautiful woman in her prime. Her outer beauty paled, though, when compared to her inner beauty. She was a loyal, selfless, fierce, strong, sister, wife, mother, and friend. She listened. She advised. She educated. She also loved, comforted and sympathized. She endured more hardship than anyone deserves, yet she never gave up. She never once questioned her responsibility or commitment to her family. Her absence is already deeply felt. May peace fill our hearts knowing that she is now in Heaven with Jesus and is reunited with her family there.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Michael Johnson; her siblings, Jerry Melton, David Melton, Kathy Wisniewski and Melissa Young; many children who called her “mama” including Billie Young, Tereasa Lowry, George Johnson, Clint White, Brent White, Travis Johnson and Michael Johnson and her grandchildren, Ivy Lane Young, Sage Laurel Young, Benjamin Reed Young, Ariana Neveah Johnson and Ivy June White.
Music Funeral Home of Waycross is in charge of arrangements.
