Jonathan Jasper Kirkland, 29, of Blackshear, passed away Thursday morning, May 2, 2019, at his residence.

Born in Fitzgerald May 21, 1989, he had lived in Pierce County for the last eight years. He had worked for Palmetto Industrial as a cleaning technician and loved to fish in his spare time. He was a very bright and smart young man who had a big heart and loved to help others. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Waycross Ward.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William Ike Kirkland and by an aunt, Judy Ann Richardson.

Survivors include his daughter, Aubree LeAnn Payne, Sylvester; his son, William Edwin Kirkland, Jesup; his mother, Mary Ann Jordan Britt, Albany; his father, John Edwin Kirkland, Blackshear; maternal grandparents, Marion and Ikie Steverson, Fitzgerald; several aunts and uncles, Pam (Glenn) Taylor and Bobbie Jean (Lacy) Hogan, all of Fitzgerald, Barbara Kennedy, Moultrie, Donna (Wayne) Hogan, Cordele, Teddy (Leona) Jordan, Brunswick, Harley Jordan, Fitzgerald, Shirley Eagerton and Eddie Kirkland, both of Blackshear and several other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the graveside in Shiloh Cemetery.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, May 6, from the Shiloh Cemetery.
