Jessie Daniel Boatright, 74, of Blackshear, passed away early Thursday morning, July 23, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, following an extended illness.
Born March 12, 1946 in Alma, he was the youngest son of the late Robert Fulton and Alma Sims Boatright. He had lived most of his life in Pierce County and had worked many years driving a truck for Cauley’s Meat Packing Plant in Waycross and as a painter. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Janice Marie Boatright, Mary Lee Boatright Lovell Floyd and Eula Boatright Murray and five brothers, Earl Boatright, Purdom Boatright, Hollis Boatright, Paul Boatright and Robert Fulton Boatright.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Spivey Boatright, Hazlehurst; eight children, Sandy Gill (husband Danny) and Shawn Boatright (wife Denise), all of Blackshear, Stan Kirkland, Millwood, Stacey Kirkland, Savannah, Shane Kirkland, Coffee County, Steve Boatright, Blackshear, Spence Boatright (wife Brenda), Offerman and Stephanie Boatright, Hazlehurst; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dale O’Steen, Blackshear, Shirley Walker, Waycross, Barbara Gilliard (husband Jerry), Blackshear, and Patricia Phillips (husband Rick), Waycross; a brother, Rab Boatright (wife Anne), Patterson; four sisters-in-law, Sybil Boatright and Pearl Boatright, both of Blackshear, Laquita Boatright, Patterson and Barbara Boatright, Waycross and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at the graveside in the Waters Cemetery.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, from the Waters Cemetery near Blackshear.
