Jean Coleman Guyer

Eva Jean (Coleman) Guyer, 78, of Blackshear, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019, at her home, after an extended battle with cancer.  

She was born July 16, 1941 in Pikeville, KY to the late Leck and Alma Chaney Coleman.

She retired from Insulation Dealers and Supply Co. in Decatur, IL, followed by a second retirement from Crosby Pontiac Cadillac in Waycross.  She and her family ran Food Ministries as a community outreach in Ware County and the surrounding area for many years and she was an active member of the Waycross Marine Corps League Detachment 1333.  

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Lloyd Guyer, her parents, a sister and two brothers, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law. 

Survivors include her husband, Paul Guyer, Blackshear; a daughter, Jodi Osborne Thrift (Jason), Blackshear; daughter-in-law, Valerie Bonnell Guyer, Rantoul, IL; four grandchildren, Courtney Osborne Williams, Blackshear,  William Guyer, Rantoul, IL.  Miranda Guyer, Champaign IL and Mallory Henderson (David), Patterson; five great-grandchildren, Haley Davis, Kyra Williams, Camerin Sinclair, Ally Williams and Everly Henderson; four sisters,  Mildred Ray, Jeanette Dixon (Luke), Mary Sue Fields (Eugene) and Ruby Ann Coleman, all of Pikeville, KY and many cherished nieces and nephews.  

Memorialization is by cremation.

At her request there will be no funeral. She requested that a family game night for family and friends be held in celebration of her life.

The family game night celebration will take place beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Youmans Chapel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 3497 Dean Still Road, Blackshear.
