Henry Joseph McAleer IV, 78, of Ellabell, passed away early Saturday morning, June 27, 2020, at the Comfort Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wadley.

Born July 22, 1941 in Savannah, he was the only son of the late Henry Joseph McAleer III and Martha Ann Redmond. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Coast Guard. He lived many years in Ellabell and was retired as a plumber/pipefitter with Union Local 188.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sheila Kimker and Sandra McAleer.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mildred Griffin McAleer, Ellabell; two children, Theresa A. Walker, Ellabell and Mark A. McAleer (wife Emily), Savannah; two grandchildren, Dalton C. Walker, Ellabell and Caroline Reeves, Savannah; mother-in-law, Elouise Griffin, Blackshear and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 29 from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
