Gurelda Pittman Henderson

Gurelda Pittman Henderson, 92, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, following an extended illness.

She was born on February 6, 1928 in Ware County to the late I.V. Pittman and Rena Capps Pittman.  She was a member of Victory Methodist Church for 70 years and was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Society. She was a proud great-granddaughter of Obediah Barber.  She loved the Lord, her family and her community dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Leo Pittman, Razzie Pittman, Robert Pittman, Otto Pittman, J.B. Pittman, Bertie Hendrix and Ella Browning; a special niece, Geraldine Strickland and a special nephew, George Hendrix.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Huey Henderson, Manor; six children, Thomas Miller Henderson (Jeanie), Bristol, Cecelia Gloss (late Pastor Mickey), Manor, Diane Booth (Shelley), Waycross, Janice Smith (Jay), Homerville and Samuel Huey Henderson (Julie) and Gurelda Denise Henderson, both of Manor; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place from 2-3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Victory Methodist Church in Manor. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, from the Victory Methodist Church in Manor.

Interment will follow in Victory Cemetery.
