Glenn Franklin Crosby

Glenn Franklin Crosby, 72, of Alma went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at his residence after a short illness.

He was born on October 29, 1949 in Glynn County to the late Ralph Crosby and Nadine Harris Byrd. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Thomas Crosby.

He retired as a boilermaker from Container Corporation of America in Fernandina Beach, FL. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Bacon County Masonic Lodge #57.

Survivors include his step-mother, Delama Crosby, Alma; his five daughters,  Tracy Crosby McKenzie, Philadelphia, PA, Jenni Gourley (Evan), Buford, SC, Eve Boatright (Scotty), Tiffany McLean (Jamie) and Shea Crosby (Shawn), all of Alma; his five brothers and sisters, Jim Byrd (Melba), Bristol, Steve Byrd (Dorcell), Eva Johnson, Alice Dixon and Janice Gilliard (Loy), all of Alma; his nine grandchildren, John Beck Jr. (Laura), Tracy Beck, Jenny Beck (Chris), Ellen Gourley, Jake Gourley (Caitlyn), Madison Boatright (Austen), Kacie Sandbach (Stephen), Dylan McLean and Karsten Crosby and five great-grandchildren, Johnny Beck III, Reef Taylor, Millie Gourley, Weston Carillo and Henry Sandbach,

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, from the Offerman Cemetery with Bishop R. B. Gaskins and Brother Jim Byrd officiating.

Employees of Hospice Satilla will be honorary pallbearers.

Crosby Funeral Home of Alma is in charge of arrangements.
