Geraldine ‘Gerry’ Harris Colbath

Geraldine “Gerry” Harris Colbath, 82, of Blackshear, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020, at the Orange Park Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.

Born in Blackshear, August 7, 1938, she moved back to Pierce County in 1973 after traveling throughout the country with her husband who served in the U. S. Navy. She sold Avon for 37 years where she became a Senior Executive Avon Representative. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waycross First Ward, where she was very active and had  served in many capacities within the church. She loved to travel and  loved everything Disney, especially Goofy. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved all of her family.

She was the daughter of the late Ivan Taylor and Lera Pauline Williamson Harris. She was also preceded in death by her son, Francis Colbath and a sister, Carolyn Foster.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Pete Colbath, Blackshear; a daughter, Tammy Riggins, Blackshear; a son, Rory Colbath, Blackshear; a sister, Janice Stephens, Blackshear; four grandchildren, Gary Riggins, Kristin (Brett) Harrison, Lance Riggins and Linzee Riggins; two great -grandchildren, Alayna Harrison and Deklan Riggins and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Due to COVID-19, and social distancing the use of face masks is recommended.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
