Gene Collins Rouse, 70, of Nahunta, passed away Tuesday evening, April 28, 2020, at his residence, after an extended illness.

Born in Richmond, VA, his parents were Stanley Earl Rouse and Ida Mary Martin Rouse. He was also preceded in death by his son, Frank Rouse and several brothers and sisters.

He was an author and was of the Baptist faith. Writing was his passion and he also enjoyed reading.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Rouse, Nahunta; two daughters, Shelley Overacre, Powhatan, VA and Angel Wolfe, Buffalo, NY; a son, Adam Casgar, Brunswick; three grandchildren, Nikki Overacre, Dallas Overacre and Cooper Casgar; his brother, Stanley Rouse of Virginia; a niece, Wendy Smith, Blackshear and several other relatives.

Due to the COVID-19, the family will have a memorial service at a later date.
