Franklin ‘Frank’ Strickland

Franklin “Frank” Strickland, 76, of Patterson, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at UF Shands in Jacksonville, FL.

Born April 10, 1944, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life. He was a plumber for Hodges Plumbing and was of the Baptist faith. He loved to fish, hunt, watch westerns and visit with his coffee club buddies. Always joking, he was so full of life and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

He was a son of the late Estes T. and Eva Mae Taylor Strickland. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Batten and Sally McGarity and two brothers, Marvin Strickland and Tommy Strickland.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Taylor Strickland, Patterson; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Derrick Sutton, Lenox; his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Mandy Strickland, Patterson; three sisters, Ann Weaver, Gainesville, Sue (Jimmy) Deshotel, Tallahassee, FL, and Kay (Scott) Buckingham, DeLand, FL; two brothers, Johnny (Carolyn) Strickland, Sanford, FL, and J. L. (Willie) Strickland, DeLand; a sister-in-law, Iris Strickland, Blackshear; five grandchildren, Kristy Purvis, Austin (Shelbie) Sutton, Walker Strickland, Briar Conerly, and Baylee (Caleb) Jacobs; five great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Sutton, Alivia Sutton, Jace Aldridge, John Grady Jacobs and Aaron Jacobs and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, from the Ramah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines as well as the use of facemasks are strongly encouraged.
