Clara Pauline Banks Kimbrell, 91, of Waycross, passed away Monday afternoon, September 21, 2020, at Baptist Village Nursing Home in Waycross.

Born in Blackshear January 7, 1929, she had lived in Pierce and Ware Counties all of her life. She had been a line worker for the former Spatola Shoe Factory until they closed then went to work at First Baptist Church in Waycross where she cooked at their Wednesday night suppers. She had also babysat all of her grandbabies – as well as other children – over the years. She enjoyed reading and crocheting and loved to cook – she was an excellent one. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was of the Baptist faith.

She was a daughter of the late Marvin Clinton and Sylvia Gertrude “Gertie” Batten Banks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Donald Stewart Kimbrell; a son, Donnie Kimbrell; both of her sisters, Christine Britt and Latrell Lewis and a brother, Thomas Banks.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Dub) Ashton, St. Marys and Cheri (Will) Trogdon of Waycross; two sons, Brown Kimbrell and Bronze (Wendy) Kimbrell, all of Waycross; a daughter-in-law, Leslie Kimbrell, Tampa, FL; a brother, Wilton (Evelyn) Banks, Blackshear; nine grandchildren, Steve (Brenda) Wood, Matt Kimbrell, Sarah (Eric) Ruiz, Josh (Suzannah) Trogdon, Libby Trogdon, Chance Kimbrell, Duncan Kimbrell, Tess Lucas and HollyAnn (Michael) Goldman; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Friday, September 25, at the graveside at Blackshear City Cemetery.
