Carolyn Louise Strickland

Carolyn Louise Strickland, 73, of Sanford, FL, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, at UF Shands in Gainesville, FL.

Born in Jesup August 12, 1947, she had lived in Jacksonville, FL prior to moving to Sanford where she lived most of her life. She had her own bookkeeping business, Strickland and Associates, as well as her own cleaning business, Neat & Tidy. She collected figurines/angels and loved to shop for anything. She also loved to cook and if you ever went to her house to eat you also left with a plate to take home. She was a grandmother to all the neighborhood children and dearly loved all of her family.  

She was a daughter of the late Riley Lee and Mary Magdeline Westberry Strickland. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Raymond Roy Willis Jr.; a sister, Linda Diane Strickland; two brothers, Riley Lee Strickland Jr. and Dale Eugene Strickland and by two sisters-in-law, Jean Strickland and Nancy Strickland.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Strickland, Sanford, FL; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary (Brian) Chamberlin, Cleveland, TN and Rebekah (Travis) Perkins, Springfield, MO; a step-daughter, Mandy Shawl, DeLand, FL; two step-sons, Mike (Tammy) Strickland, Crescent City, FL and Johnny (Paula) Strickland Jr., Marysville, OH; a sister, Anne Sumner, Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Donald Strickland, Jacksonville, FL; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, from the Shiloh Cemetery.
