Bob Davis, 71, of Screven died suddenly Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at his home, after a short illness.
A native of Asheboro, NC, he had lived in Wayne County the past 34 years and was a retired FMF Chief Hospital Corpsman with the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam. After his military career, he owned Pineland Painting Company. He was a Red Hill Baptist Church member who enjoyed attending and working with his fellow members. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with stain glass, tending to his chickens and rabbits but mostly, he loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elder Reid and Jewell Davis.
Survivors are his wife of 37 years, Mary Ellen Davis, Screven; a daughter, Colleen (Tommy) Staton, St. Petersburg, FL; a son, Christopher Davis, Chicago, IL; a step-daughter, Lisa (Barry) Waldron, Jacksonville, FL; a step-son, Mike (Monica) Morrison, Jesup; a brother, Ronald (Trish) Davis, Jacksonville, FL several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, from the Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Elder Jason Deal and Mike Morrison officiating.
Interment will follow in the Screven City Cemetery with full military honors.
Active pallbearers will be his family.
