Signs line Main Street for each 2020 graduate
Pierce County High School seniors may still walk across a stage to receive their diplomas later this year, but last Friday, high school administrators and staff cheered them on as they drove by PCHS to pick up their caps and gowns.
Graduation, initially set for May 22, has been canceled due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19, but another ceremony may be rescheduled at a later date. (See related story).
A giant Class of 2020 banner and balloons was posted at the first roundabout Friday morning to congratulate seniors and yard signs for each senior lined the driveway to the school.
Principal Dara Bennett and other staff members then moved those signs, 235 in total, to line both sides of Main Street in Blackshear from the post office to First Baptist Church. Another 18 signs weren’t ready yet, but will be posted later, Bennett says.
