Pierce County is still looking for a new recreation director.
“We are still looking for the right candidate for the job,” said County Manager Jason Rubenbauer.
The position was advertised in September, but still has not been filled. The position, along with several other jobs in county departments, is being advertised again this week.
Rubenbauer said to date only one application has been received and the applicant did not meet qualifications. He said the position will be open until it is filled.
“We want to get a good, quality candidate who will build a full-service sports and recreation program for the entire community,” he said.
Applicants for the position are subject to a criminal background/motor vehicle record check, physical, and pre-employment drug testing. Applications are available online at www.piercecountyga.gov or can be picked up at 312 Nichols Street. Interested persons may submit their application at 312 Nichols Street.
The position has been open for the past six months, since Hardy Maloch resigned in June.
Maloch had served as the interim director of the department from October 2019 through March of this year.
