Get fired up for those Bears!
Mark your calendars for 7 p.m. Saturday, August 7, for the annual Bear Bash Pep Rally at Blackshear City Park to celebrate the start of the 2021-22 school year.
Put on by Main Street/Better Hometown Blackshear, the rally will start off by introducing all fall sports: football, softball, cross country, band and competition cheer.
The PCHS Spirit Cheerleaders will get the crowd pumped up with a performance, along with The Sound of Silver Band and a concert by the band A1A.
A1A is a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band.
“We will have a variety of food vendors to choose from,” Better Hometown Manager Bethany Strickland said Monday. “People are welcome to bring their own chairs, picnic blankets and baskets or tables and set them up around the main bandstand in the park.”
Strickland said that in the past, tables were provided for folks, but this way residents can get up close to their student athletes and the entertainment.
Better Hometown also will have plenty of swag available to show your Pierce County spirit. It is hoped that the first “Bear Fever” fiberglass bear also will be in place at the first roundabout at PCHS by that time.
