Local businesses need you to shop local this summer and in turn customers will have the chance to win free fuel.
The Pierce County Chamber of Commerce and Blackshear’s Better Hometown program are teaming up for a Shop Local initiative during July. The program is called Flash Cash Mob and Free Fuel Friday.
Every Friday morning during the month of July, Better Hometown Manager Bethany Strickland and Chamber of Commerce Director Sarah Gove will draw the name of a Pierce County store. The drawing will be posted on the Chamber and Better Hometown’s social media channels at 9 a.m. The first ten paying customers at that store will win a $20 gas card. The winners will be given their gas card immediately.
Participating stores will be either Chamber of Commerce members or Better Hometown sponsors. All eligible businesses will be included in the drawing. A different store will be announced every Friday morning July 8, 15, 22 and 29.
“There’s always a slow down in local shopping during the summer,” Gove says. “We hope this initiative will help boost sales for our Pierce County business owners AND give some lucky Pierce Countians a break on rising gas prices.”
“Pierce County is blessed with amazing businesses and the “Flash Cash Mob” is a fun way of supporting those shops that always, unselfishly give back to our community,” Strickland says.
