Ezra Williams, who was known for his craftsmanship and was the long-time owner of Custom Cabinets, passed away last Monday, May 2. He was 90.
Williams was known far and wide for his skill as a cabinet maker. He was responsible for the cabinets in the Pierce County Courthouse, many at First Baptist Church in Blackshear, desks and cabinets at CSX, and all the dining tables of the southeast Georgia Captain Joe’s Restaurants.
A lifelong resident of Pierce County, he was a graduate of Blackshear High School. He worked several years as a bookkeeper and teller for The Blackshear Bank before working for CSX Transportation in Waycross as an electrician, retiring in 1992 as a supervisor.
Williams was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and was a season ticket holder for over 40 years. He was also a longtime NASCAR fan and an avid Bill Elliott supporter.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 5, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
