Hometown star Nikki DeLoach will be featured on a holiday album titled “Why? Because It’s Christmas” and in a Hallmark Channel movie “Cranberry Christmas”.
DeLoach took time away from her busy schedule to visit for a spell with her hometown newspaper, The Blackshear Times.
Reminiscing and remembering her roots, DeLoach is excited to announced her latest project.
“It was great to work on this album, especially with all the turmoil and pain that is going on with the virus. We were able to all come together from all parts of the country and put together this Christmas album. It is beautiful. I sometimes just pinch myself to make sure it is happening,” she said.
DeLoach has reunited with her fellow ‘All New’ Mickey Mouse Club (MMC) cast members from the 1990s to produce the album.
DeLoach always knew she wanted to be an entertainer and became a member of the MMC when she was 12. The MMC launched the careers of Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling and Christina Aguillera and Britney Spears.
She is featured on the album with her fellow Mouseketeers Tony Lucca, Dale Godboldo and Rhona Bennettto. The album features 17 Mouseketeers who recorded 15 holiday classics, all during the height of the pandemic.
She does a spoken piece titled “What Christmas Means to Me.”
The project features traditional holiday songs, including “O Holy Night,” “The First Noel,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Away in a Manager,” “Go Tell It On the Mountain” and more featuring the 17 Mouseketeers with their own spin on the songs.
The album has already been released digitally and will be released commercially Black Friday, Nov. 27.
“It has already hit number 17 on the iTunes chart and I think you will be blown away by the talent of the people performing on this album,” she said. “I encourage all my friends to go and treat themselves.”
The album will be available as a commemorative holiday CD and as a digital download.
DeLoach also notes a portion of the proceeds from the album will go to help others.
“The album is a gift you can give yourself, while also giving back to others,” she said.
The group is donating a portion of the gross proceeds to several nonprofits including one that is close to her heart, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
“The organization is a big help to those with Alzheimer’s and I am doing that in honor of my Dad (David DeLoach),” she said.
N. DeLoach encourages everyone who can to make additional donations to the project by donating on her Instagram page: @nikdeloach.
Proceeds from the album will also go to MusiCares®, The Brave of Heart Fund and Castmember Pantry at Disney. MusiCares® provides critical assistance to members of the music community in times of need. The Brave of Heart Fund provides much needed financial support to the families of front line healthcare workers and volunteers who lost their lives due to COVID-19.
Castmember Pantry supports the families of cast members at Disney who have been furloughed during the pandemic.
DeLoach went on from MMC to have a successful career in the entertainment industry.
She is slated to star in Cranberry Christmas on the Hallmark Channel during the Christmas season.
“I tell people just to watch the Hallmark Channel and I will be on there eventually,” she says with a laugh.
Now as a Los Angeles-based actress and producer, DeLoach co-starred in the feature film Traveller (with Mark Wahlberg and Bill Paxton) and starred on MTV’s Awkward and in several original movies, including The Perfect Catch, Christmas Land, A Dream of Christmas and Truly, Madly, Sweetly. Her many TV credits include the TV series Misery Loves Company, NCIS, Criminal Minds, CSI, CSI: NY, Cold Case, Mad Men, Without a Trace, Grey’s Anatomy, and many others.
Outside of acting, DeLoach is dedicated to sharing her passions and ideas with others. She co-founded What We Are, a community of women that celebrates their unfiltered selves. She is also a passionate supporter and spokesperson for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and The Alzheimer’s Association. DeLoach also shares her love for acting by coaching at the renowned Warner Loughlin Studios. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Ryan, and two young sons, Hudson and Bennett.
The “All New” Mickey Mouse Club debuted in 1989 on the Disney Channel and helped launch both the network and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (the new MGM Studios), where all seven seasons were taped. Over 100,000 kids auditioned with only 35 chosen to become life-long ambassadors of a fraternity that shared an experience much more powerful than co-starring on a variety show. The Mouse Club was also a world-class performing arts academy that promoted giving back to community and important social causes such as diversity and inclusion.
