Blake James will be the new director of the newly -relaunched Pierce County Emergency Medical Service.
County Manager Jason Rubenbauer announced James’ hire at Tuesday night’s commission meeting.
James will be tasked with completing the transition from Grady/South Georgia EMS, back to a county managed EMS.
James, 26, is a life-long resident of Pierce County and for the past three years has served as field operations manager for the MedTrust EMS.
He and his wife, Bailey, live in Blackshear.
The county voted in December to end its contract with Grady/South Georgia EMS after three years.
