Tate Smith
Allen Tate Smith, 38, of Brunswick, died Friday, February 5, 2010, in the Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick.
A native and lifelong resident of Glynn County, he was a 1990 graduate of Glynn Academy High School and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1995. He was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma at Georgia Tech. He was employed with Brunswick Cellulose and was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tamatha Thornton Smith, Brunswick; a son, Jacob Colton Smith, Brunswick; his mother, Charlene Carlin Vanderbleek (Ray), Waverly; his father, Bob (Penny) Smith, Brunswick and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, from the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Rowell officiating.
Interment will follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Appling County.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Georgia Tech.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home of Brunswick is in charge of arrangements.
