Waldo Lotch 'Junior' Thornton
Waldo Lotch “Junior” Thornton Jr., 55, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Ware County May 31, 1954, he had lived in Pierce County all of his life. He had worked for The Potting Shed for many years and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and was a loving son and brother who will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his father, Waldo L. Thornton.
Survivors include his mother, Sarah Howell Thornton, Blackshear; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Corkie and Clarence Gooden and Kay Deloach, all of Jacksonville, FL, Deborah and Randy Tarpley, Waycross and Beth and Jerry Thompson, DeLeon Springs, FL; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Rickie and Pam Thornton, Thomasville and Brookie Thornton, Jacksonville; five nieces, Kandie (Chad) Bunch, Marlana Thornton, Brook (Diego) Perez, Sara Gooden and Hope Thornton; a nephew, Dylan Hinson; a great-niece Mary Jane Perez; four great-nephews, Christian Moore, Logan Bunch, Taylor Hinson and Bryce Hinson and several other relatives.
Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, from the First Baptist Church in Blackshear.
Interment will follow in the Blackshear Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
