ELECTION: Early voting for Blackshear runoff November 23-25

Advanced voting for a runoff election deciding two seats on the Blackshear City Council will begin Monday, November 23 and last through Wednesday, November 25.

Voting will take place at City Hall during business hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Anyone who registered to vote by October 5 can vote in the runoff election, even if they didn’t vote in the November 3 election.

District 3 voters will be choosing between Bob House and Timmy Sapp and District 4 residents will decide between challenger Bernice Blakely Bowles and incumbent David R. Broady Sr.


The regular election day will be Tuesday, December 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. December 1 at City Hall.

Residents will need to provide an approved form of photo identification to enter the polls. The following types are acceptable:

• Valid state or federal government photo ID;

• Voter identification card;

• Georgia driver’s license, even if it has expired;

• Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state;

• Valid U.S. passport;

• Valid U.S. military photo ID;

• Valid tribal photo ID.
